Our Story

Diversity Hair Care is a community-based organization dedicated to providing culturally inclusive hair care education, personal hygiene training, and career exposure opportunities for Justice Involved youth, foster families, and underserved communities.

Founded by licensed cosmetologists and educator Fatima Miles, Diversity Hair Care was created to bridge the gap between culture, confidence, and care - also supporting non-Black children and youth who have historically lacked access to proper hair care education and resources.

 

What began as a community support has grown into a workforce development and mentorship initiative serving youth through partnerships with Los Angeles County agencies, schools, and community organizations.

Today Diversity Hair Care provides hands-on instruction in cosmetology, barbering, skin care, hygiene, professionalism, and self-care while promoting self-esteem, cultural connection and personal growth.

We believe that when individuals are equipped with knowledge, support, and opportunity, confidence follows.
